National Grid is to undertake urgent repairs to a gas pipe in Thornbury Road near the junction with the A4 Great West Road.

Due to the location of the gas pipe, it will be necessary to close Thornbury Road for northbound traffic between Thornbury Avenue and the A4. Traffic heading southbound in Thornbury Road or turning from the A4 will not be affected.

A temporary local diversion will be signed via Church Road, Osterley Road, to A4. An additional advance diversion route will be set-up at the Thornbury Road and Spring Grove Road junction which will divert drivers to use the A4/Jersey Road junction.

Additional parking restrictions will be placed at the junction of Thornbury Road and Church Road to assist with traffic flows.

To minimise the impact of these works, Hounslow Council has arranged with National Grid for the work to start at 9:30am on Friday 12 December.

It is anticipated that by working through the weekend, all work will be completed before the rush-hour on Monday 15 December. If work is completed earlier, the road will be opened earlier.
