The family of Alice Gross hope a reconstruction of her last known movements may provide clues which will lead to a breakthrough in the case.

The 14-year-old was last seen on 28 August walking along the Grand Union Canal towards Brentford Lock and then back towards Hanwell.

Today a police cadet recreated Alice's distinctive - marching style - walk, wearing similar clothes and a bright 'Vans' rucksack.

Police hope the reconstruction will stimulate visually and remind people of the day Alice disappeared as they continue the hunt for key suspect, convicted murderer Arnis Zalkalns.

In a statement, Alice's family asked people with information to "please, please help us".

Her parents Rosalind and Jose released new photographs and footage of their daughter and have appealed directly to Alice : '' "We love you and we miss you. We want to see your smile again, we want to hear you sing again. We want to be a family again.''
