British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for information following an incident at Turnham Green Tube station on Thursday 4 February.

Officers have made an arrest and are appealing for any witnesses that could help the investigation into the incident to contact police.

BTP DC Graham Hempstead said that the incident occurred around 6pm.

“Three people were involved in an altercation on the westbound platform at the station and one man received a wound to his side from an umbrella.

“The man, aged 24 and from Basildon, was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.”

DC Hempstead added, "We are working to establish the exact circumstances of what happened on the platform and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that may help our investigation to come forward and contact police."

A 35 year-old man from Isleworth was arrested by police outside the station on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm with intent. The man was taken into custody for questioning and has been bailed to return to police on Monday 22 February pending further enquiries.
