London Fire Brigade say the fire in Tasty's cafe on the corner of Fulham High Street and Fulham Road is under control at 6.15pm on Friday evening.

It took over an hour for around 35 firefighters to get the blaze under control and London Ambulance has confirmed one person has been treated for burns.

Around 5pm the brigade posted this picture of the dramatic scene, taken by Rich Dean @richdean21 and advised people to avoid the area if possible.

The drama began around 4.45pm when the brigade tweeted: " Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters are currently dealing with a fire in a café on High Street."

A few minutes later they tweeted: " Now have 35 firefighters at café on #Fulham High Street. Ground floor is alight."

A third followed: " Heavy traffic around #Fulham High St as we deal with a café blaze. Please avoid the area if possible."

Just after 5pm, ChrisHawkswell, EP07 ?@LAS_TacAdvisor tweeted: "Ambulance crew, response paramedic, duty officer & @LAS_HART are at a cafe fire on #Fulham High Street w/ @LondonFire."

Chris is Tactical Advisor Tactical Advisor and Emergency Planning Officer with London Ambulance confirmed minutes later: "We are currently treating a patient with burns from the fire."

The fire brought traffic across Fulham to a standstill during the rush hour on Friday, but roads are now beginning to clear.
