GLA Representative Geoff Pope joined the Southfield Lib Dems including councillor Gary Malcolm to continue the campaign to stop Transport for London shutting the manned ticket office Chiswick Park tube station.

Councillor Gary Malcolm and Geoff Pope observed customers into the tube station and Geoff Pope will be feeding these observations back to the Mayor of London and Transport for London.

Cllr Gary Malcolm said,"At a time when the member of station staff had shut up the ticket office people came and then left when they could not use the Oyster card machine because it was faulty.

"We believe that staff should be there and there should be an overhaul of machines and a buzzer to contact staff if they are temporarily away from the ticket office.”

Gary added,“Today showed that when the ticket office was unmanned there were problems. The signage for customers in the station is not good enough and so it means that Chiswick Park needs to be manned to make feel safer as well as dealing with enquiries.”
