A 70 year old woman was severely hurt after being hit by a car on New Year's Eve.

The woman, who is believed to be from Brentford, was crossing the Ealing Road near McDonalds at the junction with the High Street at 3.45pm when police think she was hit by the window of a passing Rover 420 hatchback.

She was taken to hospital suffering from injuries to her hip, pelvis and shoulder. It is thought that she will make a full recovery.

Brentford High Street was closed between Ealing Road and Kew Bridge for four hours as police attended the scene. Severe disruption occurred in the area as a result.

The case is being handled by the Traffic Serious Case Work Unit in Kent. Anyone with information should call 020 7230 4995.
